History: Chapter Awards

The Star Greenhand Award honors a first-year or second-year FFA member who has gone above and beyond in their introduction to agricultural education and leadership. 

Star in Agriculture  award recognizes a junior or senior FFA member who has demonstrated an outstanding drive in learning, leadership, and promotes agricultural education and industy in the community.

The DEKALB® Agricultural Accomplishment Award is awarded to one FFA student per chapter who exemplifies scholarship, commitment, work ethic and passion for pursuing a career in agriculture. These students demonstrate promising young talent and are the rising stars of agriculture.

The Pitchfork Award represents more than just a symbol of achievement—it embodies the core values of dedication, grit, and determination both within the FFA and beyond. Recipients of this award have demonstrated unwavering commitment to personal growth, agricultural excellence, and servant leadership. Whether in the classroom, in the field, or in their communities, these individuals exemplify what it means to work hard, persevere through challenges, and lead by example. The Pitchfork Award honors those who dig deep, rise above, and inspire others to do the same.
